What are regions of conflict?
They are usually fractured regions.
Worldwide, many ethnic minorities are distinctive from the majority of a population that economically, socially, and culturally fail to recognize such distinctiveness. As a consequence, minorities will step up against assimilation efforts and disagree with assimilation attempts of the dominant majority. These activities will result in regional processes that can shape a geographic region and its society. Self and group mobilization may range from artistic expression of identity to cultural heritage preservation, diplomatic activism, or in worse case scenario, brake-away attempts and war. Planning practitioners, who work with community development programs, need to be well equipped to understand the sensitive nature of ethnic and cultural meanings and interests of all groups within a region. Meaningful dialogue and empathy can lead to peaceful coexistence between majority and minority groups. We have a view that war solves nothing and violence will result more violence.
How can we assist you?
Based on academic research and latest scientific discoveries into regional and community wide developments, we offer regional level approaches to community development. Based on our core values we seek understanding independently from national agendas of any governments, associations, and political motivations.
We offer research consulting.
Through meaningful research we advocate for communities and their integrity. However, such advocacy is limited by scientific objectivity. Still, we can advocate by designing research studies that do not abandon many variables that historically has been. Our approaches are designed to give voice to all narratives of land-based, geographically bound communities. One of our approach, planning as cultural-religious practice, was developed through original research and was introduced at national planning conferences like the National Conference of the American Planning Association, and the Annual Conference of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning.
Our main core values are integrity, collaboration, empathy, and community.
We believe everyone has the right to live with human dignity no matter of political, religious, sexual and other identifiers.
Where are regions of conflicts located?
They are almost everywhere worldwide, but often they are hidden, suppressed, or neglected due to various national agendas. Some examples can be found where war have erupted like Palestine-Israel, Ukraine-Russia, and Syria. However, there are many regions within Italy, Germany, Romania, or Spain, just to mention a few, where some struggle still present and diplomatic means are in place to find common solutions.
